The deal between the health system and Clinton County is expected to be made official before the end of 2016.
County officials began searching for a new operator after St. Vincent Health decided not to renew its lease with the county, which expires on May 31, 2017. Once the new deal is approved, IU Health will take over the hospital on June 1.
"We are deeply appreciative of St. Vincent for its steadfast dedication to Frankfort and Clinton County for almost 20 years," said Alan Dunn, president of the Clinton County Council. "Under the management of St. Vincent, our hospital has effectively navigated major transformations in the healthcare industry while providing strong quality of care for local residents."
As part of the agreement, both the county and IU Health have agreed that the health system will make an offer of employment to all employees in good standing.
The announcement comes one month after Goshen Health announced it was ending its affiliation with IU Health.
