The 9.3 percent reduction, which will go into effect January 1, is expected to save Indiana businesses more than $82 million.
"We are proud that Indiana continues to produce some of the lowest Workers’ Compensation rates in the nation," said Robertson. "With overall rates decreasing in 2017, Indiana intensifies its tradition of offering employers a welcoming and responsive business environment. The significant savings will help support Indiana businesses and encourage continued job growth for Hoosiers."
Last month, Area Development Magazine ranked Indiana among the "Top States for Doing Business" and cited the state’s worker’s compensation premium rates which "compare favorably" to other high-ranking states.
