IPFW Touts Admissions Record

As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowIPFW says it has reached a five-year admissions record. The university admitted more than 4,500 students for the 2016 fall semester, the highest number since 2012.
The university says the majority of the group is high school students, with nearly 3,200, which is a nearly 23 percent increase over 2013, which saw 2,500 students. Adult learners were up 62 percent, re-entry students increased 11 percent and transfer students from other universities rose four percent.
"The comprehensive academic offerings available at IPFW, along with our mix of Purdue University and Indiana University programs, are very attractive to high school students," said Carl Drummond, vice chancellor for academic affairs and enrollment management. "Our gains in student populations such as adult learners and transfer students illustrate that the combination of value and quality makes IPFW the right choice for anyone who wants to pursue higher education in northeast Indiana."
In June, the boards of trustees of Indiana University and Purdue University agreed to a five-year extension of the university’s current management structure. A proposed revised governance structure is expected to be presented to the boards at their respective meetings in December.
