Kimball Acquires Indy Manufacturer

Subscribe NowJasper-based Kimball Electronics (Nasdaq: KE) has acquired the assets of Indianapolis-based Aircom Manufacturing Inc. As part of the $3.5 million deal, Kimball has taken over Aircom’s manufacturing facility and hired about 100 Aircom employees.
Aircom is the former parent company of Medivative Technologies LLC, which was recently acquired by Kimball. The company specializes in metal fabrication, plastic injection molding and assembly.
"Completing the Aircom acquisition is another important step in our strategy to expand our package of value by offering our customers design engineering and manufacturing expertise in precision metals and plastics," said Don Charron, chief executive officer of Kimball.
Kimball says, along with the employees and the manufacturing facility, it has also acquired production equipment and inventory. Aircom President Ron Lyon his former employees have a "bright future" as part of the Kimball family.
