New Haven-based Lassus Brothers Oil Inc. and Valparaiso-based Family Express Corp. will share the grants.
The grants will fund the deployment of a total of 16 blender pumps, which will provide more access to blends of E15-E85 ethanol fuels in areas where availability was previously limited or nonexistent. Lassus Brothers plans to use more than $175,000 to provide eight pumps in Allen County and Family Express was awarded nearly $155,000 to provide eight pumps in LaPorte County.
As part of the program, the recipients have been asked to track their ethanol volume sales and marketing efforts through 2017 and their ethanol sales through 2022. The Indiana OED says the data will help measure the impact of the ethanol fueling infrastructure.
The grants are part of the third round of funding for the HHF program. Family Express received nearly $800,000 in HHF funds earlier this year.
