AT&T Launches GigaPower in Central Indiana

(NYSE: T) has launched its ultra-fast internet service to residential and business customers in parts of central Indiana. The company says its GigaPower and Business Fiber services will provide customers with up to one gigabit-per-second speeds.
AT&T says GigaPower is available to residents in parts of Indianapolis, Brownsburg, Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Plainfield, and surrounding areas. The Business Fiber service is available to businesses in AT&T Fiber Ready buildings, such as those in the recently-designated Lebanon Business Park and the Purdue Research Park of Southeast Indiana.
"High-speed internet is an important ingredient for our flourishing local tech ecosystem, both for enabling progressive companies and creating attractive places for talented, connected workers to live," said Mike Langellier, chief executive officer of Indianapolis-based TechPoint. "AT&T GigaPower and AT&T Business Fiber are welcome additions to our city."
In addition to central Indiana, AT&T launched GigaPower in parts of Crown Point, Gary and Hammond last year, as well as portions of Munster and St. John earlier this year.
AT&T says it has also invested nearly $2 billion in wireless and wired networks in Indiana between 2013 and 2015. The company made more than 375 wireless network upgrades in Indiana in 2015 alone.
