Indianapolis-based SmartFile had hired Don Scifres to serve in the newly-created role of president. Scifres, the co-founder and managing partner of VisionTech Partners in Indianapolis, will begin his new role July 5.

Scifres will be responsible for leading the operations, product development, services and finance divisions for the company. SmartFile says John Hurley will continue his role as chief executive officer and will focus on sales, marketing and company culture.

"Adding Don as president allows us to combine our strengths. I can focus on creative projects in sales and marketing, while Don’s strategy, analytical and operations background will help us scale faster," said Hurley. "Don is a well-known business and technology leader across the Midwest, and his impact on SmartFile’s direction will no doubt be immediate."

SmartFile says Scifres will continue as a general partner with VisionTech. He says he is excited to join SmartFile and assist with its rapid growth. SmartFile is a file management platform that serves businesses from small-to-medium size to Fortune 1000 companies.
