(NYSE: BERY) is planning to make a major investment to increase its hygiene and healthcare capacity. The company says the investment would be part of a larger project and could start up in 2018.
Berry Plastics did not give an estimated number for the investment but said it would be part of its Health, Hygiene, and Specialties Division. The company said the investment will aim to meet forecasted customer growth in the hygiene and healthcare markets.
"This exciting news demonstrates strong commitment to our customers’ growth, as well as advances our prominent market position in hygiene and healthcare material solutions," said Larry Goldstein, North America president of Berry Plastics’ Health, Hygiene, and Specialties Division.
The company plans to search for a location to best fit the investment. When completed, Berry says the asset will provide 16,000 metric tons of capacity for the North American markets.
