Community Foundation Awards Grants

The grants were awarded in partnership with the Smithville Charitable Foundation. The Community Foundation says the grants focus on funding charitable efforts that have potential for encouraging change and creating solutions to issues facing the community.
"Every year, we continue to be impressed by the applicants and the incredible work these organizations do for our community," said Tina Peterson, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County. "The agencies selected for grants this year represent organizations devoted to improving the quality of life for members of our community and we’re thrilled to help them advance initiatives to expand and improve their services."
The grant recipients include:
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington
- Cardinal Stage Company
- Centerstone
- Foundation of Monroe County Community Schools
- Hoosier Hills Food Bank
- LIFEDesigns
- Lotus Education and Arts Foundation
- Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard
- Shalom Community Center
- Stepping Stones
- WonderLab
The Community Foundation says the recipients will address a "broad range of community needs," such as the arts, education, resources for food and shelter, and building support for area nonprofits.
