A popular restaurant chain is opening its first Bloomington location this summer. Simon Property Group (NYSE: SPG) says Colorado-based Red Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc. (Nasdaq: RRGB) will add a new location at College Mall.

Red Robin currently has 11 Indiana locations, including five in the Indianapolis area. The College Mall location is expected to open in late summer 2016.

"We could not be more excited to bring this brand new restaurant to Bloomington-area shoppers," said Ellery Likens, mall manager at College Mall. "Red Robin truly offers something for everyone to enjoy, and takes the dining experience at College Mall to a new level."

Red Robin first opened in Seattle in 1969. It currently has locations in 43 states. The company reported growth in 2015 with a full-year net income of $47.7 million, up from $32.6 million in 2014.
