Ellspermann Winding Down Final Day as LG

Sue Ellspermann, who has applied to be the next president of Ivy Tech Community College, officially resigns from office at the close of business today.
Ellspermann first publicly expressed her interest in the Ivy Tech job in December. In an interview with Inside INdiana Business Television, Ellspermann cited work force as a major reason she was looking to succeed Tom Snyder, who is set to step down this year.
Last month, Governor Mike Pence said he would nominate former Indiana Republican Party Chairman Eric Holcomb to succeed Ellspermann as lieutenant governor. In making the announcement, Pence said Holcomb "has a heart for public service and a love for Indiana like few people I have ever known."
