Zionsville-based Apex Energy Solutions is expanding by offering franchise opportunities throughout the country. The window and eco-friendly building product dealer hopes to expand into several U.S. markets over the next 18 months.

Apex previously sold market licenses, all of which have since converted into franchises. Founder and CEO Michael Foit said they wanted to make sure they had all the right pieces in place to ensure franchisees would see success.

"We put these pieces together to create what we call A Better Way," Foit said. "It’s the kind of opportunity I wanted when I first went into business. When I couldn’t find it, I created Apex."

Apex was launched in 1998 and is now a nearly $30 million business with franchises operating in 15 states. The company says it expects double-digit growth in 2016.
