Dutch Company to Expand in Evansville

DSM says it will renovate and equip its 175,000 square-foot facility in Evansville over the next five years. The company currently employs 160 workers at the facility and is hiring for production and maintenance jobs as well as support and staff-level positions.
"We have continued to successfully grow our manufacturing operations in Indiana over the past 25 years," said Randy McGowan, vice president of operations for DSM Engineering Plastics Americas. "Evansville is rich in resources with expertise in custom thermoplastics. This has allowed us to expand our operations quickly and to respond to changes in the marketplace."

The company has been offered up to $200,000 in conditional tax incentives by the Indiana Economic Development Corp. The incentives are performance-based, which means the company will not be eligible to claim them until Hoosiers are hired for the new positions. Vanderburgh County will also consider additional incentives.
DSM opened its Evansville operations in 1970. The company also has a production facility in Frankfort.
