Angie’s List Competitor to Open Shop

The downtown Indianapolis office of Colorado-based HomeAdvisor will open Friday. The competitor of Indianapolis-based Angie’s List (Nasdaq: ANGI) announced the new office in December, saying it will hire around 50 employees.

HomeAdvisor says it is currently adding positions in Indianapolis and and other locations throughout the country. The company previously told Inside INdiana Business the new office will have room to expand and will debut its new Sales Training Executive Program.

In November, HomeAdvisor’s parent company, InterActive Corp (Nasdaq: IACI) made an acquisition offer to Angie’s List for $512 million cash. Angie’s List declined that offer.

HomeAdvisor has over 1,600 employees worldwide. Job listing’s for the new Indy office are posted on the company’s web site.
