Steve Helmich, who has led Cathedral for 16 years, will serve as executive vice president of the fundraising division of Damar Services Inc.
Indianapolis-based Damar says Helmich was responsible for raising over $75 million for Cathedral during his tenure as president. He also previously served as president of the Community Education Coalition in Columbus and president of the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce.
“We are thrilled to have a leader of Steve’s caliber join us as a staff member to help serve the needs of Damar’s clients,” said Ken File, president of the Damar Foundation. “The importance of private philanthropy to Damar has never been greater, and Steve’s knowledge and skill will help in so many ways.”
The school says Rob Bridges will succeed Helmich, beginning in July.
