The addition of a new Frontier Airlines route to Philadelphia International Airport means IND has added 24 new nonstops since 2014.
The new flight is one of more than three dozen added throughout the U.S. by Frontier. Three weekly flights will travel between IND and PHL starting April 14. Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriquez says "we’re pleased to be able to offer yet another low-cost option for nonstop travel to Philadelphia, a popular destination for both business and leisure travelers. IND has seen a significant increase in new nonstop routes in the past two years and, with this announcement, we expect that momentum to continue in 2016."
The state’s largest airport is touting a nearly 7 percent increase in passengers in 2015, compared to 2014. Officials say it’s the highest year-over-year jump in over a decade.
In all, IND offers 41 nonstop destinations.
