Construction Underway on $50M Pacers, St. Vincent Facility

Subscribe NowThe Indiana Pacers and St. Vincent Health have broken ground on a $50 million training and medical facility. The 130,000 square-foot, five story building is being touted by the team as a leg up for recruiting and St. Vincent Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Nalli calls it "a new staple and health care access point" downtown. The facility is near Banker’s Fieldhouse and is currently the location of employee parking.
Pacers owner Herb Simon says "this is another hugely significant day for the future of our franchise as we strive to make our small-market team competitive in the highest echelons of the NBA. I am delighted that we have such a valuable partner in St. Vincent and can assist them in their mission to deliver world-class health care to the people of Indianapolis."
In addition to Pacers’ training facilities, the St. Vincent Center will include a medical facility with primary care, cardiovascular and sports performance services for the team and the public. The project is privately-funded and is slated to open in 18 months.
St. Vincent Sports Performance will offer services such as sports nutrition, sports and performance psychology, sports science and physical training from the professionals that provide services to the Verizon IndyCar Series, NFL, NBA, WNBA, USA Football, USA Gymnastics, USA Diving and USA Track & Field.
The center will be the 20th stand-alone training facility built by an NBA since in more than 15 years. It will has two regulations-sized practice courts and as part of the deal, Pacers practice jerseys will carry a St. Vincent.
The TCU Practice Court at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, which is used by the Pacers and the Indiana Fever, will remain the WNBA team’s practice home, as well as be more available for additional events, once the new facility is complete.
The project will be privately-funded and team owner Herb Simon calls its an “exciting time for the Pacers.”
