The company says the restaurant, located inside the Courtyard Hotel in downtown Muncie, will do more than offer food and beer to patrons.
The new Thr3e Wise Men restaurant will also serve as a training center for people with disabilities. Students at the Erskine Green Training Institute will learn to work in the restaurant industry. Thr3e Wise Men will employ and train 10-15 people with disabilities every eight weeks to prepare them for a long-term career in the hospitality industry.
“When I was approached to consider this project, it took me 2 seconds to say ‘YES! Count us in!” said owner Scott Wise. “To be a part of a project like this is a living testament to our company’s vision and mission- to give back to our world and help those that need a hand up.”
The restaurant’s goal is to have 20 percent of its staff come from the Erskine program. The program also provides training in the hotel and health care industries.
Thr3e Wise Men will also provide room service for hotel visitors and provide banquet reservations for groups of 25-100. Food and beer delivery will also be available within a five-mile radius which includes the Ball State University campus.
