Conference co-founder Billie Dragoo says the November event in Indianapolis is a chance for women to learn and practice the "high-stakes art of pitching."
The Dolphin Tank is a national program of Washington D.C.-based Springboard Enterprises. Its goal is to help bridge what it calls a gap between venture funding for men and women-owned small businesses. The organization says the program has raised more than $6 billion in capital for women entrepreneurs.
In a release from the Indiana Conference For Women, co-founder Deborah Collins Stephens said, "Women-led businesses are on the rise, yet these firms are traditionally underserved by all sources of growth capital. We are committed to providing programs such as these that help overcome hurdles to secure the funding these businesses deserve."
The conference is taking applications through September 15. You can find more information by clicking here.
The Indiana Conference for Women is set for Thursday, November 12 at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis.
Launch Ladies founder Kristen Cooper says the funding gap has been years in the making.
