Central Indiana Attracts More Tech Jobs

Carmel-based information technology consulting firm GyanSys has announced plans to expand its headquarters and add more than 240 jobs by 2020. The company is investing more than $4.5 million in facility, software and hardware upgrades to meet the demands of its growing work force. GyanSys, which also has international offices in India and the Philippines, relocated its headquarters from Austin, Texas to Indiana in 2005. It has more than 500 associates and has already begun hiring for positions in information systems management, computer science and business administration.

Chief Executive Officer Raj Una says the company picked Indiana over sites in Illinois and Texas for the expansion. He says Indiana’s location and business climate create an “excellent ecosystem” to attract and retain talent.

GyanSys is the latest tech company to choose central Indiana for growth. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says companies including Geofeedia, Emarsys, Return Path, Eleven Fifty and Emarsys have added jobs in recent months.The organization says more than 5,000 tech jobs have been created in central Indiana since 2009.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered GyanSys more than $4.5 million in conditional tax credits and training grants based on the job creation plans.
