IU School of Medicine Dean Combats AIDS in Africa
A project taking place thousands of miles away is seeking to reinforce the altruistic spirit of medicine for healthcare professionals right here in the Hoosier state—and along the way, about two million lives have been touched by the project. Dr. Craig Brater, dean of the Indiana University School of Medicine, has recently returned home after spending two months in Kenya working with the Academic Model for the Prevention And Treatment of HIV/AIDS—or the "AMPATH" project. The program is part of a partnership established between Indiana University and Moi University in Kenya nearly 20 years ago.
